lockdown check-in

Good morning. This is Jacq from Authentic Artists and Aurate Limited. I want to check in on you. How are you? Hope you’re doing well. There’s two things I want to talk about today. Firstly, is. We’ve been getting hints now during lockdown that we’re planning what the exit of lockdown will look like.

A lot of the people that I’ve worked with and coach are working on their vision, working on their objectives and their plan as to what they want to do next. I think we all know that things have changed in a very profound and fundamental way. Whilst there’s been huge human cost, tragedy, economic impact, all of those things are a given, and I would never belittle that, but I also think that we have to look for the silver linings (I’m all about the silver linings) and about what comes next?- I think that’s up to us to create.

What I would love to do is create something better, to upgrade, to make it something that’s not just different but very much better in whatever ways we can. It’s one of those terms, isn’t it? Better… But it’s not that helpful. If we were at one level before, how do we get to a higher level? How do we get to that higher point in terms of what we do and what we want to create in the world? So, there’s two aspects to that for me: how we BE; and what we DO.

I talk about this a lot, I coach on it., often what we are BEing is blocking what we want to do. Also, very often we don’t always know what that is – what our target, our vision is that we want to create. If you’re a musician, songwriter, artist, DJ, producer, that may just that you want to create music – but not have a plan for the next steps.

If you do… great, how do you get there? How do you get to your goal? What is it you want to achieve? what project is it? Is it just releasing songs or is there a campaign around that? Is there an objective? Is there an EP release? Is there a tour eventually?  Musicians and live events and a lot of the people in this industry have been some of the worst affected, because absolutely everything is stopped immediately and that meant no revenue streams at all. So, it’s really hard and we want to try and use this time to get back on our feet in the best way, the most efficient way possible, and to use that lack of opportunity to fuel our creativity, to get something that is going to deliver what you want to create.

You absolutely are pulled and compelled to create. So how we do that? What we do? How we do it, the way we do it is unique to us and we want to make sure that we don’t self-sabotage, we don’t stand in the way of that. We don’t let our insecurities, lack of self-worth sometimes, money blocks, success blocks, fear of visibility, get in the way of any of that.  Trust me, I know that because I’ve had all that in abundance and been working on it.  It is the inner work, how we’re being that can mostly stand in the way of that, so I would encourage you to understand, dream into reality. The big vision. What is it that you want?

What are you aiming for? What do you want to create? Then put a plan around that. So, it’s not all masculine, targeted at the objectives and the goals and the targets, but it’s also about allowing the flow, the feminine, the space, and the creative stillness to infuse that with energy. In order to do that you need to know where you’re headed.

So. I’d encourage you to dwell on that. Think about it. I think we’re all being reflective and I’d encourage you to make that a positive, creative, purposeful reflection.

Jacq
